TAKUKURU Call for Interview. The Prevention and Combating of Corruption (PCCB) is a public institution established under the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act No. 11 of 2007. This Act was enacted after the repeal of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCCB) Chapter 329 revised annually. 2002. The establishment of this body came after the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania passed the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bill, 2007 on April 16, 2007. The Bill was signed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Jakaya Kikwete. became the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act on June 11, 2007 and came into operation on July 1, 2007.

The fight against corruption in the country began even before Independence. After independence Tanzania inherited the colonial Anti-Corruption Act of 1958 which had its origins in 1930. In 1930 the British administration used the Indian Penal Code to punish Colonial government officials found guilty of soliciting. and receiving bribes. This law had very few anti-corruption provisions such as soliciting and receiving bribes. Elements of this law on corruption were incorporated into the Criminal Procedure Code, Chapter 16 enacted by the Tanganyika Legislative Council known as the LEGICO (Legislative Council) in 1945.
