Special Social Distress Relief is R350 per month from the date of approval. Applicants will be paid from the month of application there will be no backpay.

Eligibility For Sassa R350 Grant
- South African Citizens, Permanent Residents or Refugees registered with Home Affairs;
- Resident within the borders of the Republic of South Africa;
- Above the age of 18;
- Unemployed;
- Not receiving any income;
- Not receiving any social grant;
- Not receiving any unemployment insurance benefit and does not qualify to receive unemployment insurance benefits;
- Not receiving a stipend from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme;
- Not receiving any other government COVID-19 response support; and
- Not resident in a government funded or subsidised institution.

Sassa R350 Grant Application Online 2022
Follow the steps below to start your online application for the Sassa R350 Grant 2022/2023
- Start your Internet browser.
- Navigate to srd.sassa.gov.za
- Capture your ID number, mobile and click the Send button.
- You will be provided with a 6-digit OTP number.
- Enter the OTP number, then click on verify pin.
- Confirm your details as per the details you provided on the chat.
- Accept the terms and conditions. Read and agree to the Declaration and Consent Document Accept and agree to the You, Your Special COVID-19 RRD Grantdocument.
- Provide your personal details such as your ID Number, Name, Surname as printed on the ID Document/ Card, and other personal information, e.g., address, gender, etc.
- Next, enter your bank details and select your payment option.
- An SMS will be sent to your mobile phone with the following information: Application ID: 123456; 88.081. SASSA confirms that the bank details have been successfully updated for BANK NAME.
- Your SRD R350 Grant application is now active.
There after you will be requested to provide your Personal Details such as ID Number, Name, Surname as it is printed on the ID Document/ Card and also Provide other Details e.g. address, gender, etc
Proceed by Submit Banking Details/ Choose Payment Option as follows
Clients with Personal Bank Account
- Choose Bank Name
- Provide Account number
- Provide Branch Name
- Provide Account Type
- Agree to Terms and Conditions
- Submit Banking Details
Clients without Personal Bank accounts
- Choose Payment option- Cash Send
- Agree to Terms and Conditions
- Submit Banking Details
Then once that complete you will receive a text message on the number you provided below.
