MeTL Group subsidiary Maisha Bottlers & Beverages Limited (MBBL), the group’s 3rd largest factory, is Tanzania’s leading producer of drinking water and flavoured drinks. The factory also produces a wide range of plastic containers and packing materials. It began producing and distributing three brands of water, Masafi, Maisha and Just Chill, as well as juice beverage Pride. The company simultaneously launched a line of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) preforms, PET bottles and filling beverages. Later, the factory began producing PP (polypropylene) buckets and lids as well as HDPE (high density polyethylene) jerry cans. Chiller Operator Jobs Description
- To control operations of all chiller and cooling tower equipment and systems.
- To identify the causes of operating errors and decide to do what about it.
- To watch gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure the machine is working properly.
- To conduct tests and inspections of process water to evaluate quality or performance.
- To perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- To manage one‘s own time and the time of others.
- Select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
- Prepare daily operational log sheets and maintenance reports and to submit to Reporting Officer.
- To perform any related jobs as might be assigned by the management.

VERSATILITY OF PRODUCTS:
PET preforms come in various sizes from 9 g – 680g, with different end designs, from 250 ml – 18.5 litres. MBBL has an approximate consumption of 150 tons of PET every month (1,800 tons per annum). PP injection molded buckets, crates and lids come in various sizes, from 4 litres – 20 litres. MBBL also makes petroleum jelly containers in various sizes from 25 g – 200g. MBBL has an approximate consumption of 300 tons – 350 tons of PP every month (3,600 tons – 4200 tons per annum.) HDPE injection molded caps come in various sizes to match preform necks. Approximate consumption is 16 tons – 18 tons every month (192 tons – 216 tons per annum.) HDPE blow grade jerry cans and cosmetic jars are available from 1 litre – 20 litres with an approximate consumption of 25 tons – 30 tons per month (300 tons – 360 tons per annum.) LDPE (low-density polyethylene) material is used to make shrink-wrap for packing bottles and juices.
