Deputy Minister Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Hon. Ridhiwani Kikwete has said that the act of the Secretariat of Employment in the Public Service to officially start using a digital interview system that enables the applicant to be interviewed at his location instead of traveling a long distance, in order to reduce costs for the Government and for the interviewees is a great achievement of the Government of the sixth phase under The leadership of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in promoting transparency in the process of providing employment.
Hon. Kikwete made the statement yesterday in Dar es Salaam immediately after witnessing the interviewees of ICTÂ cadre conducting the interview at the University of St. Joseph, being one of the primary interview centers held digitally in every Region throughout the country, being the first interview since the system was recently launched
He said that the system has started to be used at the right time when the President Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan continues efforts to strengthen transparency and avoid favoritism in the entire issue of government employment.
He said that about 32 centers across the country today have conducted the interview where a total of 2325 interviewees have had the opportunity to do the interview without having to travel a long distance
He has explained that the 32 centers where the interview was held include Tanzania Mainland and Islands where in the Dar es Salaam Region there were four centers due to the large number of interviewees who had applied.
Hon.Kikwete has said that the issue of employment is the life of the people, so the process today has opened a new page to promote transparency and integrity in removing complaints from those who are looking for government jobs.
He said that the system apart from helping to reduce the costs of interviewees who were complaining of traveling long distances to the interview center by spending a lot of time and cost, but today they have been interviewed where they are and then continue to do other activities to earn income.
On his part, the Head of the IT Department from the Public Service Employment Secretariat, Engineer Samweli Tanguye said that the system, once the interviewees finished the screening, they will get their results today, unlike in the beginning where the results were taking more than three days to come out.
He has said that this system gives an opportunity to interviewees who do more than one interview in one day to be able to do another interview on the same day at a different time where it was not easy before.
On his part, Juma Ali, an interviewee of the Tehama cadre, has praised the advent of the digital interview system while saying that despite reducing the cost of traveling to Dodoma, he has had the opportunity to continue doing other activities immediately after completing his interview.
