Programme Description
The Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counselling programme is a 3-year undergraduate degree programme which prepares high-quality Guidance and Counselling professionals focusing on career choice and its influence in Tanzania. Graduates from this programme are eligible for teaching in programmes serving career development and planning, Guidance and Counselling curriculum developers, guidance and counselling policy planners, programme administrators and inspectors of guidance and counselling programmes.
Learning Outcomes
- Development of analytical skills of policy, curriculum, pedagogy and other context-specific issues related to Guidance and Counselling.
- Development of knowledge, skills and attitudes essential for high-quality practice in guidance and counselling.
- Development of competencies focused on the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed by all guidance and counselling practitioners. 124
- Development of the knowledge and skills required in the process of guidance and counselling policy and curriculum development.
- Design, implement and evaluate guidance and counselling programmes.
- Familiarity with information on educational training, employment trends, labor market and social issues.
