David Omondi, the outgoing Secretary General Students Union of Egerton University, has been on the limelight in the recent past for his exemplary leadership skills that have landed him lucrative opportunities to dine with the who-is-who in various leadership forums in Kenya.
The 4th year BSc. Agricultural Economics student was nominated for the Kenya Universities Students Leaders Awards together with 74 others from universities in Kenya. They were shortlisted, interviewed and trained on grounds of project management, students’ welfare management and interpersonal skills with fall-outs in each stage.
This is what he had to say about the award, “I have always wanted to be a CEO whole my whole life. Going to the university has been the best opportunity for me.”
Out of the 74 students nominated for the awards, David is among the 8 who have qualified for finals awaiting awards at Nairobi’s Safari Park Hotel this weekend.
Mr. Omondi has attended various leadership forums such as Africa Youth Leadership Forum at Manzoni- Machakos, Global Students Integrity Forum in Mombasa, Arusha and Maseno, Kenya National Prayers Breakfast in Nairobi and recently attended Kenya School of Government Conference in Nairobi.
Omondi has served as the Secretary General of Egerton University student union for two consecutive terms.
