Introduction
Dodoma, 09 January 2023 The Ministry has received positions for Master’s Degree studies in the field of International Public Policy and Economics (International Public Policy and Economics) from the University of Tsukuba in Japan. The Ministry would like to encourage qualified Tanzanians to apply for the degree which will give the student the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge in various economic fields.
The government of the United Republic of Tanzania has set aside funds to award scholarships to qualified Tanzanian students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies at accredited institutions of higher learning within and outside the country.
In line with the Government’s commitment to develop human resources and expand access to quality higher education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation is inviting applications for the Fully Funded Scholarship from suitably qualified Tanzanian citizens.
The scholarships will cover the cost of tuition, accommodation, books and other study materials, as well as a monthly stipend for living expenses. The scholarships will be awarded for a period of four years, renewable for one additional year for those students who make satisfactory progress in their studies.

- Hold a bachelor’s degree and have completed 16 years of school education (up to undergraduate level), or be expected to earn a bachelor’s degree and complete 16 years of school education by September 30, 2022. A strong background in economics and associated quantitative methods (linear algebra, calculus and statistics) are required. Note: Applicants who have completed their university education in countries where formal schooling lasts less than 16 years, who are at least 22 years old, and who have spent at least one year in a research or similar institution, may also apply by filling out and submitting the provided form (Certificate of Research Activities).
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the English language by submitting a TOEFL score or other evidence deemed appropriate by the Graduate School. A TOEFL score of iBT100, PBT600, or higher is preferred for admission. If taking these exams proves unfeasible, equivalent proof of skills may be acceptable in the form of one of the following: 1) an alternative standardized test score (IELTs, TOEIC etc.); 2) a certificate issued by a relevant institution, current or former professor of the candidate; 3) a letter issued by a director in the current workplace of the candidate. Please note the Program will judge the suitability of any documents submitted as ‘equivalent proof’ and may request further details or evidence.

What Fully Funded Scholarship Will Cover?
- – Economy class travel between the home country and Tsukuba with travel allowance set by donors
- – Exam fee, entrance fee, tuition and other program fees
- – Monthly stipend
- – Medical insurance costs
- – Additional travel costs (i.e. visits home during the program etc.)
- – Specific costs related to research, participation in workshops, seminars etc. not integrated into PEPP’s curriculum
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation in Tanzania is inviting applications for its fully-funded scholarships. These scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies at institutions of higher learning in Tanzania.
The aim of the scholarship is to support and promote academic excellence among Tanzanian students. The scholarships will cover the full cost of tuition, accommodation, living expenses and travel costs.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be citizens of Tanzania and must have completed their secondary education. Applicants must also have a strong academic record and demonstrate financial need.
