The 2022 national examination results have been released. The exams were conducted from 24/10/2022 to 8/12/2022. The results will be used to determine which students can move on to the next level of schooling

The results of the national examinations of standard four, seventh and form two  2022-2023 are as follows:

Evaluation of the Zanzibar BMZ  Standard IV  Exam Results 

A total of 58,052 candidates registered to take the exam, with 29,723 men (51.20 percent) and 28,329 women (48.80 percent) making up the pool. Among those candidates, 362 had special needs including 03 Blind, 154 Visually Impaired, 51 Deaf, 98 Mentally Handicapped, 36 Physically Handicapped and Handicapped Combination 20. A total of 56,160 candidates (96.67 percent) took the test, with 28,360 men (50.50 percent) and 27,800 women (49.50 percent) completing it. Success showed that a total of 50,351 candidates passed grades A, B, C and D–an increase of 10.81 percent compared to the 78.85 percent success of the previous year.

Evaluation of the Zanzibar BMZ  Standard VII National  Exam Results 2022

A total of 25,391 candidates registered for the exam, with 46.09% being women and 53.91% being men. Of those registered, 160 have special needs including 1 blind, 60 visually impaired, 18 deaf, 54 mentally handicapped, 21 physically handicapped, and 6 with a combination of handicaps.
A total of 24,580 candidates took the test (96.81%), with 46.59% being women and 53.41% being men. Of those taking the test, 21,241 (86.42%) passed with grades A, B, C or D. 3,339 (13.58%) got grade F.
Looking at the Standard seven grade exam results for 2022, 18,892 (76.86%) candidates passed with a grade of D, 2,259 (9.19%) with a grade of C, 90 (0.37%) with a grade of B, and 3,339 (13.58%) with a grade of F.
In the year 2022, Religion will be the leading subject with 92.75 percent success rate, followed by Social Science with 92.27 percent, Kiswahili with 89.04 percent, Art, Design and Sports with 87.64 percent, English with 84.57 percent, Science and Technology with 76.22 percent, Arabic with 66.28 percent and Mathematics with 12.43 percent. Additionally, a total of 53 candidates with special needs have passed the test including 36 Visually Impaired, 5 Deaf, 10 Limbs and 2 Mixed Disabilities.

Evaluation of the Zanzibar BMZ  Form Two National  Exam Results 2022

A total of 33,083 candidates were enrolled in the test, 15,530 of them men (46.94%) and 17,553 women (53.06%). Candidates with Special Needs registered to take the test numbered 297, among them 1 blind, 187 with Low Vision, 25 Deaf, 52 Mentally Handicapped, 20 Physically Handicapped and 12 with Mixed Disabilities. A total of 32,189 candidates (97.29%) took the exam, 14,935 of them men (46.40%) and 17,254 women (53.60%). Success rates show that 27,588 candidates (85.70% of those who took the test) passed Division I, II, III and IV; 4,601 candidates (14.30%) got Division 0. This is an achievement that has increased by 6.75% compared to the success rate in 2021 of 78.95%. The Form Two Examination for the year 2022 shows that many candidates have succeeded in getting Division IV (10,639; 33.05%), followed by III (8,793; 27.32%), II (4,263; 13.24%) and I (3,893; 12.09%). In addition, 4,601 candidates (14.30%) got Division 0.
In the year 2022, English had a 94.42 percent success rate, Religion had a 94.20 percent success rate, Kiswahili had a 93.94 percent success rate, Civics had a 93.10 percent success rate, Geography had a 90.12 percent success rate, History had an 81.87 percent success rate, Arabic had an 80.30 percent success rate, Chemistry had a 78.06 percent success rate, Biology had a 74.22 percent success rate, Physics had a 56.06 percent success rate and Mathematics had a 32.28 percent success rate.
