Job Purpose
– To provide porter and basic driving services across the airport terminal & ramp operation to all passenger, and cargo flights, in conjunction with the physical movement of passenger baggage and freight within and outside the ramp terminal or at various designated points, as per work instructions. To carry out various types of driving in the airport as required and which are trained and licensed to operate. Health and safety responsibilities. Execute:
- Provide and operate different types of Ground Support Equipment to Operating Airlines as per the customer requirements.
- To assist with loading/unloading of baggage, cargo or mail airside within designated areas at the ramp terminal and concourse, or distributing, collecting, positioning and circulating equipment, material or baggage both within and outside the ramp area
- To provide porterage and driving service across the airport terminal & ramp. This role will encompass both driving and/or manual handling as the operation/business need demands.
- To sort baggage on to trolleys and into containers according to customer airline requirements, accurately recording each item.
- Ensure that safety and security procedures are complied with at all times while conducting assigned responsibilities.
- Responsible for the health and safety duty of care at the workplace.
- Ensure to report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss to your supervisor or employer.
- Cooperate with your employer when they require something to be done for health and safety at the workplace.
Qualifications & Experience
- Preference will be given to holders of a full driving license.
- Relevant licences as per dnata Zanzibar training and license matrix.
- Capable to lift items up to 32kgs repetitively.
