The Taita Taveta County Public Service Board invites applications from suitable and qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the following vacant positions in the County Government of Taita Taveta.

POSITION: CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEONS JG CPSB 04 ‘Q’
Number of Posts: Two (2)
Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable
Basic Salary Scale: As provided for by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.CH.B) from a recognized institution, recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
- Masters in medicine (MMED) – Orthopedic surgery from a recognized institution;
- Served for a Minimum of three (3) years’ at Job Group ‘P’ or an equivalent similar position;
- Registered with Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
- Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board; and,
- Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than 6 weeks from a recognized institution
Responsibilities
- Teaching and supervision of interns and other health workers;
- Provide in-patient and out-patient services to new born children and adolescents;
- Analyzing medical reports;
- Undertaking health research;
- Carrying out forensic and medico-legal services;
- Performing medical and surgical procedures;
- Undertaking general diagnosis, care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients;
- Coordinating disease surveillance; prevention and control;
- Carrying out forensic;
- Carrying out specialized clinical care;
- Providing psycho-social interventions;
- Providing clinical services to patients;
- Maintaining up to date health information systems;
- Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters; and,
- Assist in the policy
