The Registration Assistant functions as a vital member of the registration team, under the supervision of a senior colleague who typically reports to the Registration Officer directly. The role encompasses various responsibilities related to registration, including reception duties, filing, and data management. Additionally, the incumbent addresses inquiries from asylum seekers and refugees concerning UNHCR’s registration procedures and their rights. Collaboration with protection staff and partners is essential to ensure prompt identification and referral of individuals requiring protection follow-up. When necessary, the Registration Assistant provides interpretation and translation services, leveraging their language proficiency.

**Duties**
– Conduct registration interviews in adherence to local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and registration standards.
– Address inquiries from asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR’s registration procedures and entitlements.
– Maintain accurate and updated records and data pertaining to individual registration cases.
– Identify individuals with specific needs and facilitate timely referrals for protection follow-up.
– Collaborate with protection staff and partners to deliver assistance and programming, including issuing identity and entitlement documentation.
– Serve as an interpreter and translator when necessary.
– Refer cases to other units within the office and to implementing partners as required.
– Support risk identification and management efforts, ensuring decision-making aligns with functional responsibilities. Promptly escalate risks, issues, and concerns to supervisors or relevant colleagues.

**Minimum Qualifications**
**Education & Professional Work Experience**
– G4 level: 1 year of relevant experience with a High School Diploma; or Bachelor’s degree or higher.
