The Centre is a not-for-profit Faith Based Organization with a capacity of 105 beds. Among the major health services provided are: primary health care services, comprehensive emergency obstetric newborn care services, HIV services and nutrition services.

Duty Station:

Bariadi-Simiyu, Tanzania

Job Responsibilities

• Welcome customers in the dental office
• Doing prevention and treatment of oral and dental diseases
• Detecting unusual problems in the mouth and taking appropriate measures
• Extracting and sealing teeth
• Providing first aid for problems resulting from accidents
• Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
• Other tasks assigned to him by his superior according to his professional experience.

Requirements

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• A minimum of 1 to 5 years of working experience in clinical setting.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Attention to detail
• Well-organized and reliable
• Diploma in Clinical Dentistry/NTA level for a period of three years from a College recognized by the Government
• Registered from the Tanganyika Medical Council (Medical Council of Tanganyika); and
• Active License holders from the Tanganyika Medical Council (Medical Council of Tanganyika).
