**Job Purpose/Mission**
The role of the Accounts Assistant is to ensure accurate accounting, timely recording, and reporting of financial transactions, as well as internal and external auditing within the Accounts Section. This includes managing asset and liability values, implementing effective internal controls for payments, and upholding compliance standards.
**Responsibilities**
– Manage staff imprest, including receiving and reviewing incoming mail, ensuring accuracy, obtaining authorization, and recording transactions in SAP.
– Prepare payment vouchers/requisitions for review, facilitate timely payments, and respond to finance-related inquiries from staff.
– Reconcile employee statements and ledger cards, produce monthly reports, and follow up on outstanding balances.
– Monitor and report on outstanding staff balances, ensuring timely recovery before payroll processing.
– Calculate and account for tax and levy obligations before payments, including Stamp Duty, Withholding Tax, VAT, City Service Levy, and corporate taxes.
– Assist in audit preparation and collaborate with external auditors, preparing necessary schedules.
– Adhere to Engie Mobisol’s Code of Ethics and EEA Health and Safety Policy.
– Maintain physical payment files, conduct daily cash reconciliation, and manage ad-hoc cash counts.
– Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
**Knowledge And Skills**
**Experience:**
– 1-2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
– Proficiency in accounting and financial reporting standards.
– Ability to build effective relationships and partnerships.
– Skills in inventory management.
– Comfortable working in a fast-growing and dynamic environment.
**Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
– CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
**Language(s):**
– English
**Technology:**
– Proficiency in Microsoft applications, computers, and accounting packages.
