Insurance Specialist; General (1 Position)
Job Location: Head Office, Hq
Job Purpose:
Responsible for providing full support to all stakeholders in all aspects of general insurance, including selling, underwriting, reporting, and claims.
Main Responsibilities:
– Execute General insurance strategy.
– Manage renewals across the branch network to retain 80% of General insurance business.
– Identify sales prospects and conduct business development activities.
– Collaborate with the product team to design general insurance products relevant to customer needs.
– Obtain and review insurance quotations to ensure competitive policies for customers.
– Support customers during claims.
– Manage relationships with customers, branches, and stakeholders.
– Ensure timely collection of all General insurance incomes.
– Monitor performance of new products and provide progress reports.
– Prepare monthly and quarterly sales reports for General insurance.
– Participate in business activities for cross-selling insurance products.
– Build capacity of branch sales teams and other bank officers.
– Supervise quotation issuance and provide technical support to branches on General Insurance.
– Drive sales and promotional campaigns across zones in line with bank policies.
– Handle customer complaints regarding General Insurance.
– Assist in modifying procedures and documents related to policies as required.
– Provide system support to branches.
– Proactively identify and resolve issues.
– Assist with timely insurance renewal follow-ups.
– Adhere to all bancassurance regulations.
– Assist other departments when insurance assistance is needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
– Comprehensive knowledge of Insurance.
– Understanding of bank products.
– Knowledge of legislation related to banc assurance and the bank as a whole.
– Understanding of product life cycle.
– Strong analytical and numerical skills.
– Good interpersonal, networking, and marketing skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in insurance business, risk management.
– Master’s Degree/Postgraduate in risk management and insurance business or related fields preferred.
– Certification course or training in risk management and insurance business is an advantage.
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience in insurance business with a reputable company.
– Experience in underwriting, claims, and sales of insurance products.
